Kristin Briggs, Ed.D.

Dr. Kristin Briggs is a licensed psychologist in private practice in the state of NJ and the founder of 3 Calvin Place of Renewal.  In her private practice (Healing Journeys, LLC), Dr. Briggs offers individual therapy and group parenting sessions.  She believes the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between the clinician and the client including the provision of a safe, supportive environment in which to explore innermost thoughts and feelings.   Her areas of expertise are working with trauma and resulting symptoms including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, interpersonal difficulties, and anxiety.  Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and informed by Internal Family Systems theory (IFS),  Dr. Briggs has worked successfully for the last 20 years with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced an array of traumatic life experiences including sexual and physical abuse, assault, domestic violence, and traumatic grief. As Dr. Briggs has continued to evolve as an individual and a therapist, her intuition and most current research has guided her toward more mindful, holistic, integrative practices combining traditional therapy with energy psychology/healing to effectively access and shift the subconscious patterns established in the early years of life.  Having learned that by incorporating mindfulness into her daily life, she feels more balanced, energized, productive and regulated, Dr. Briggs would like to continue to find ways to offer mindful, peaceful ways of living to her clients as well as the broader community through her therapy practice at Healing Journeys, LLC and through the individual and group community offerings from holistic colleagues at 3 Calvin Place of Renewal.
